About Me

My photo
I am 24 years young, a momma to three beautiful little ones, an inspired chef and pastry artist , student, and amateur blogger! This has lead me to starting a blog of my own somewhere to write about the new recipes I make, post pictures, and possibly help other busy moms out with dinner :) Of course I will also blog about my adventure in Culinary Arts! Please look up "Country Mom Chef" on facebook and LIKE the page!!! :)

Let me introduce myself!

As you can see by my "about me" section of the blog you already know a little bit about me. I am going to go a little more in depth in my culinary dream in this post! First off, my name is Heather! I have been a "Betty home maker" for as long as I can remember, even when I was little my dream was to be the mom who prepares amazing meals for her family while keeping the house spotless and keeping everything in line, well as I got older and actually had a family of my own, not just a well behaved baby doll, reality quickly set in and keeping things "in line" or "spotless" just wasn't a reality HOWEVER, cooking baking and everything in between (as long as it is in the kitchen) was a realty for me! I have a talent something I'm very proud of and I'm here to share it with every other hopeful mother in the world or anyone just looking for a new recipe to make! Either way I'm very happy I can be of help and I hope you find what you are looking for, and more, here on my blog!

Ready, Set, action!
When I was a little girl I would spend weekends at my grandmother's house. This was special for me because I am the oldest sibling who also lived with my little brother and sister so as you can imagine I was excited to spend some time alone and be the focus point (although I suppose I made myself the focus of everything anyway being the oldest ;)While my brother and sister would play "puppy friends" I was far more interested in the adult world of cooking. I can remember being as little as 4 years old making rice krispie treats with my family. Another very vivid memory was going to my grandmothers on the weekends she would have a box of devils food cake and a jar of frosting waiting for me. I would set up in the kitchen with mixing bowls, spatulas, all of my ingredients and a cast iron bundt cake mold, of course I was dressed out in my grandmothers apron and I would pretend to be on my own cooking show like Martha Stewart! I would also do this during holidays when I learned to make my great grandmother's giblet gravy and stuffing. As I got older I took on my own tasks and would find recipes from my grandmother's old cook books things like millionaire pie, chocolate peanut butter pie, and fruit salad. when I really realized I enjoyed cooking and baking I was in high school in a culinary class in this class I made my very first home made cheese cake and thought I was just the best cook ever. Since then I have learned how to make a lot more than pies and devils food cake and I'm here to share this with you! I recently enrolled in Culinary Arts program at a local University and I am so excited to get my degree in this field and really turn my life long dream of cooking into something much more than a blog. I hope you will follow along beside me! Welcome to my world of pinterest inspirations, 1982 "Calling all cooks" cook book handed down to me from my grandmother who was handed down from my great grandmother, family recipes and all between!
